How Ancient Gold handles information submitted through this website.

Last updated 11 August 2026

01

Who is responsible

Ancient Gold is responsible for personal information collected through ancientgold.com.

02

Information collected

When you submit a private inquiry, the site may collect your name, email address, collecting interest, the object referenced and the message you provide. Ordinary technical records may also contain limited device, browser, IP-address, date and request information for security and reliable site operation.

With your analytics consent, Google Analytics may receive information about visits and interactions with the site, including pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser information, referral source and interaction events. Ancient Gold does not use Analytics to request your name or inquiry message.

The public collection can be viewed without creating a customer account. Ancient Gold does not collect payment-card details through this website.

03

Purpose and legal basis

Inquiry information is used to answer your request, continue a conversation you initiated, keep necessary correspondence and protect the site from misuse. Depending on the context, processing is based on steps requested before a possible transaction, legitimate interests in operating the collection and responding securely, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where specifically requested.

Optional Analytics is used to understand aggregate readership, site performance and how visitors move through the collection and Journal. Analytics storage is denied by default and is enabled only after the visitor gives the corresponding consent.

You may withdraw or change consent at any time using the consent control displayed on the site, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

04

Recipients and international transfers

Information is accessed only where needed by Ancient Gold and service providers supporting hosting, email, security or website administration. When Analytics consent is granted, Google acts as an analytics service provider. Information is not sold. It may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Some providers, including Google, may process information outside your country. Where data-protection law requires it, an appropriate transfer mechanism and safeguards should apply through the relevant provider.

05

Retention and security

Inquiry correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain an appropriate record of the conversation, satisfy legal or accounting requirements and resolve disputes. Technical logs are retained according to operational and security needs.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

06

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain processing. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country of residence, place of work or where you believe an infringement occurred.

To exercise a right, use the contact details above. Ancient Gold may need to verify your identity before responding. General guidance is available from the European Commission.

07

Cookies, Analytics and external links

The site uses cookies or similar storage that is necessary for WordPress administration, security, consent preferences and core functionality. Google Analytics is connected through Google Site Kit. Analytics and advertising storage are denied by default; optional analytics storage is granted only when a visitor chooses it through the consent controls. Ancient Gold does not use the site to serve personalised advertising.

You can revisit the consent controls at any time. Blocking or withdrawing optional Analytics does not prevent access to the public collection or Journal. For information about Google's handling of data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Journal and catalogue pages may link to external websites. Their operators are responsible for their own privacy practices.
